Coast Plaza Hotel & Suites in Vancouver was due for a full guestroom furniture replacement, with a brief that cut two ways. The new pieces had to match the hotel's modern, neutral-toned look, and they had to stand up to hospitality-grade use. The scope covered more than 150 guestrooms: king and queen bed units, workstations, casegoods and lounge seating, all built around the hotel's compact room layouts.

We developed the line together with the hotel's design team, working from clean silhouettes, warm wood finishes and fabrics specified for commercial wear. The dark grey upholstered headboards sit against light wood nightstands and desks, a combination that keeps the rooms calm and uncluttered while the materials absorb the daily wear that comes with high guest turnover. Space was the practical constraint throughout: the casegoods carry integrated storage so they earn their footprint in both standard rooms and suites, and the desk chairs were specified for business travelers who actually work at the desk.

Delivery ran on a compressed schedule, with the installation phased floor by floor so the hotel kept operating while the work moved through. In the months after handover, the hotel counted a 12% rise in positive guest reviews that specifically mentioned room comfort and design, and furniture-related maintenance issues dropped by 40%.
